February 2010 Reserve Lines

I once again requested on behalf of the reserves system wide that the company construct more reserve lines in each base with weekends off and more line consistency in general. I have been assured that we will see more consistency over all due to the fact that FEB does not contain a major holiday. The weekend OFF/INV consistency is a problem because FEB begins on a Sunday and ends on a Monday.

-2 weekends in FEB are split over 2 months

-Reserve staffing levels are higher during the month to month carry over.

With that said, I am afraid that we will see very few lines system wide with clean weekends off. There will be lines containing part of the weekends off. The company did not give me any amounts on these lines and as I type this e-line, I have not actually seen the lines as they have not yet been forwarded to me for review.

NFL Days

Unfortunately some flight attendants are returning to reserve status after short and long stretches of holding secondary lines. I have been receiving questions system wide from these flight attendants regarding NFL Days. Please utilize this link to view and or print the 24/7 Legality Issues and NFL Days, specifically the Q & A. It also can't hurt for those of us who have never left reserve status to review as well. If you have any further questions about NFL days or are questioning information given to you by scheduling, please contact your local AFA office. http://www.afausairways.org/Eline/oct25_06.htm
