If you had a Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (a.k.a. “Flexible Spending Account” or “FSA”) for the 2013 plan year, there is a grace period that extends into 2014 for your 2013 expenses if you still have a remaining account balance. You can use your 2013 FSA for services rendered between Jan. 1, 2013 and the extended grace period deadline of March 15, 2014.
WageWorks provides a list of eligible expenses to help employees and their families identify opportunities to spend any remaining funds. Popular examples include glasses, dental work, and prescription medications. Click here for the full list. All claim forms and receipts must be submitted to WageWorks no later than June 15, 2014. Log in to the WageWorks website to view your current FSA account balances. Remember, if you do not spend the funds the “use it or lose it” rule applies. For questions, call WageWorks at 877-924-3967 or visit www.wageworks.com.
