Dear Members,
April 2013 Primary Lines:
The Manager of Crew
Scheduling, John Petronzi set the maximums in ALL
bases at 90 hrs of Company time. The blocking objective was a flight attendant
blocking window of 75-90 hrs. However, the pilot Scheduling Committee needed to
build some lines under 75 and some lines above 90. If your line is below 75 or
above 90 read the following information: Lines Less 75: If
awarded a line for less than 75 hrs you can come in with such value. You may use
the AIL to increase your flying or SAP upward to 90 hrs of Company time
including vacation credit. When SAP is utilized the increased post SAP line
value becomes the new obligation including vacation time. Lines Over 90:
If awarded a line over 90 hrs you can come in with between 85 - 90 hrs
including vacation time. Such affected flight attendants may call Crew
Scheduling and drop a trip to downward project his/her block or drop via
SAP. Further, the AIL may be used to get to between 85-90 hrs. Note: There is
an agreement that an over-fly letter will not apply to a flight attendant
that flies his/her awarded line which exceeds 90 hrs (created by the pilot
scheduling committee) if he/she makes no changes to such line. This arrangement
does not include over-projection from vacation time and/or carryover time
whereby the addition of such time creates a total value that exceeds 90 hrs. See
page 9-5 starting on line 37 of the CBA.
SAP:
PHL opens Feb 24th at 1800 and closes
Mar 2nd. at 1800. CLT and DCA open Feb 24th at 1800 and
closes Mar 3rd at 1800. The
SAP non-high option window
is MAX of 90 and MIN of 60.
Secondary Lines:
The lines will open Mar 7th
at 1800 and close Mar 12th at 1800. Such lineholder wishing more
Company time (to a max of 90) may use the Augmentation process which opens on
Mar 14th and closes Mar 21st.
Reserves:
The maximum for the bid month will be 90 hrs;
therefore, a reserve may call out of time at 85:01.
TI/Line Lead-ins Trips:
On some TI equipment types the pilots used a minimum
of 70 and max of 89 which our
CBA does not
allow. Therefore, to make as many TI lines as possible inserting line lead - in
(dummy time) trips was put in the CBA so we would stay within our CBA blocking
windows. For
an
explanation of the flexibility that exists when a line lead in trip is inserted
and how line obligation works visit WINGS - INFLIGHT. Use the Blue Bidding ICON
at the top of the page. Under the heading Bidding Information find the article
titled Primary Lines with lead in trips.
The Pilot Permanent Bid Numbers:
All the Pilot Permanent
Bid numbers, per a/c type, for April are the same as the previous month. As
always, whenever possible pilot lines are duplicated for flight
attendants. The Pilot Scheduling Committee builds lines to comply with their
applicable bid. Next, the remaining "FAD - FAI - 33F" open time, left by the
pilot scheduling committee, is made into "F/A only lines". The remaining "open
time" differs from BP to BP; therefore, the amount of extra lines varies, over
and above the number of lines called for in the pilot permanent bid. Next the
21M/7IM trips, made by Crew Planners in PHX, are put into separate lines and
added to the numbers associated with the pilot permanent bid and F/A only
lines. All Non LODO Primary positions equals:
DCA: No
Change, Total lineholders = 225.
CLT: Is up 74
positions over the previous bid period. Total Primary Non-LODO lineholders =
1528.
PHL: Is up 38
positions over the previous bid period. Total Primary Non-LODO lineholders =
1379.
"Manpower"
in PHX let the pairing generator run freely. The results were: 59.5
% to CLT and 40.6% to PHL.
This document was created by John Petronzi-Manager Flight Attendant Scheduling and Carol Austin-MEC Scheduling Chair to assist flight
attendants in understanding the process utilized in monthly line construction.
