Dear Members,
The purpose of this
Eline is to
help clarify the policy for checking FAM (Flight Attendant Manual) at the
Training Center prior to the start of CQT (Continuous Qualification Training).
It is every individual flight attendant’s responsibility to obtain,
maintain and keep up-to-date the entire content of the FAM.
Policy for checking FAM compliance prior to
class start:
1. Flight Attendants must have their FAM in
compliance prior to being admitted into Continuous Qualification Training-CQT
2. InFlight Training will check flight attendant FAMs prior to class to ensure they are in compliance.
3. It is the responsibility of flight attendants to
obtain Alert Bulletins and FAM revision from their base and keep their FAM
updated per the instructions contained within the Alert Bulletin and FAM
revision.
4.
A
loaner manual in not acceptable for use in CQT
Non-Compliant FAMs:
In the event a flight attendant is discovered to
be missing an Alert Bulletin or has an incorrect revision during the check in
process, the flight attendant will be permitted to update his/her FAM using
available established proficiency questions associated with the missing FAM
material.
-
The
flight attendant in this event must successfully answer written questions (prior
to start of class) regarding the content of the missing material, after reading
and inserting the Alert Bulletin into his/her FAM.
-
An
instructor may remediate any incorrect answers.
-
If a
flight attendant has an outdated Alert Bulletin or FAM revision in his/her FAM
(in addition to the correct material), he/she is permitted to remove the
outdated material and enter class, provided this can be accomplished prior to
the start of class.
-
If a
flight attendant is not able to get his/her FAM compliant prior to the
start of class, the flight attendant will not be permitted into class and will
be directed to reschedule training.
If a flight attendant does not present a
compliant FAM (Alert Bulletin or FAM revisions upon initial check-in) a training
event report will be completed and sent to base management for follow up,
regardless of whether or not a flight attendant was able to make his/her FAM
compliant prior to the start of class.
The Training Department will try to ensure that
all flight attendant FAMs (whether the flight attendant is admitted to class or
not) have the correct Alert Bulletins and revisions prior to the flight
attendant leaving the training center. The Training Department will not conduct
an LEP check on the entire FAM as this is the responsibility of the flight
attendant.
