CREW ACCOMMODATIONS UPDATE DECEMBER
AFA was notified December 2, 2005 that our LGA-Long property is currently involved in a lawsuit, which states that two individuals while on vacation in September contracted bed bugs while staying in a room on the 6th floor of the facility.
The company contacted the hotel immediately and the following information was given to AFA and ALPA. The hotel stated that upon being notified of the infection by the individuals, the hotel removed all contents of the room for cleaning and disposed of the bedding, at which time the room was taken out of service until it was determined the pests were no longer present.
Our crewmembers currently utilize the 9th & 10th floors of this hotel, which are dedicated to airline crewmembers Neither AFA, or ALPA has received any documentation to date stating that this type of situation at this property has affected any crewmember.
The company along with AFA and ALPA are currently scheduled to look at the LGA market some time before the end of January 2006 with the hope of securing a more suitable crew accommodation facility in the Manhattan area.
The AFA website is not a secure site therefore the name of this property referred to in this e-line cannot be named due to security.
