Crew Accommodations Update September
The recent September 1st move of some of our longest RON's to the new facility in PHX has created some concerns among several of our crewmembers that have experienced the new property. The property has entered the final phase of a restaurant and soft goods renovation that is scheduled to be completed no later than September15, 2006. Unfortunately, as with any renovation there has been noise generated that has been disruptive to many of you that have tried to rest at different times of the day depending on your particular trip.
Also due to the renovation the nine smoking rooms that the property has in place, have been out of service and will be until the September 15 completion. The property has reported to the company that some crewmembers that have not been able to secure a "smoking room" have smoked in the "non-smoking" rooms anyway and in doing so have created a need for a very costly "deep clean" process that has to be completed prior to using that particular room again for a non-smoker. The property has also stated if this practice continues they will start charging the crewmember that has committed the offence a 250.00 fee for the cleaning process and will also consider terminating the contract with the company. AFA lobbied the company very hard to secure this facility because of your various concerns with our other long property and it would be unfortunate to lose this facility and it's good location because of the mistakes of a few.
Our PVD-L property has been undergoing a lengthy and noisy renovation which has been reported by numerous crewmembers via the OF-310's received. AFA has urged the company to relocate all crewmembers until this property has completed its renovation. The company has stated that they have contacted the property to request such a move and should begin the process of doing so soon.
As you know the current BOS-L facility is not working for us for various obvious reasons; distance from airport, condition of facility and the surrounding area itself. The company has recently started looking at the market again in terms of securing another facility with an exact date for moving from the current location uncertain at this time.
Site Inspections Completions/Decisions
BNA/S- A site inspection was performed in this market in late August. Three properties were visited with one being recommended by AFA and ALPA. The company chose the AFA and ALPA recommended facility.
Anticipated Site Inspections September / October / November
FCO- to be determined
DFW L/S- to be determined
RSW/L- September 11/12
TPA/L- September 12/13

The OF-310 form is available on the AFA web site or on the HUB. Please take advantage of this while at work or home and please ensure that your contact information is correct so that we may reply to your concerns.
