Crew Accommodations Update July
The Crew Accommodation Department has hired a new Buyer David Hauser to replace recently retired Senior Buyer Tom Sizemore; Mr. Hauser started July 5th with the company and will be responsible for all of the former West properties with Buyer Stephanie Mitchell taking over the former East properties. This move is welcomed by AFA since the department did not seem to be making a lot of progress dealing with contract expirations, hotel problems and the overall direction in which it was going with the department at its former staffing level.
The two recent decisions by this department of the ORD-L & BOS-L have entered the grievance process and AFA will continue to monitor your comments and concerns regarding these two facilities via the OF-310 format, which can be accessed on AFA web site or the HUB.
The much-anticipated move from the current long facility in PHX will be effective September 1st; the new property is located in the same area of our former long hotel prior to the October 1st, 2005 relocation. Unfortunately, due to the new facilities relatively small capacity they will be unable to accommodate our entire long overnight needs which currently for the month of July ranges from 25-35 crewmembers nightly. The new property anticipates being able to accommodate from 20-25 crewmembers per night with the longest of the RON's going to this new location, the balance of the longs will remain at the present facility until another suitable property is located. The company has contacted other area properties to fill the need for the balance of rooms needed but no other property has been selected at this time.
