CREW ACCOMMODATIONS UPDATE JULY
MIA-S: A site inspection was performed in this market in mid July. Eight properties were visited, three were recommended by AFA and ALPA with one being the incumbent. A decision should be made by July 25th.
CDG: The Company notified AFA and ALPA July 13th that we will leave the incumbent property July 31st due to a cost savings measure, which is a combination of transportation, and room rate increases. The property was selected by the company with no involvement from AFA and ALPA on a "temporary trial basis" and is effective August 1st until a formal inspection can be completed in this market, which is expected sometime in October. At that time once the inspection process has been completed AFA, ALPA and Travel Service Purchasing will then select the best facility based on established guidelines. The location of this property cannot be disclosed in this e-line due to security but will be available in the CDG briefing room.
MAD: The Company notified AFA and ALPA July 18th that they had been contacted by the incumbent property and told that effective mid December the hotel will close due to an ownership decision. The Company, AFA and ALPA are currently evaluating our options in this market and will hopefully settle on a replacement facility soon. We will notify the membership as soon as that information becomes available.
