Crew Accommodations Update March /April

It seems that the US Airways Crew Accommodation Department has to this point been totally consumed with combining the accommodation information from the two airlines into one, a process that has taken the department from 80 to approximately 240 properties system wide. We had hoped by now to have had some positive changes made to several facilities that we on the "East" currently use and that continue to receive less than favorable comments from our membership. AFA&ALPA East advised the company several months ago of the markets we felt needed to be addressed first and although no decision has been made to date we expect to see changes very soon with regard to BOS-long and PHX-long & short.

AFA&ALPA East /West have recently started being updated on a bi-weekly basis by the company with a list of our properties that are currently under review, these are properties whose contracts have ether expired or they are set to expire soon. This type of information has been provided to AFA&ALPA is the past and has been very helpful for planning purposes but has been unavailable to us since the mid part of last year due to the merger.

There has been a recent change to our ORD-long property which was effective April 1st. The incumbent is currently undergoing a major renovation until year-end and could not accept crews due to the noise that is associated with this type of renovation. However the selection process of the new facility did not include AFA&ALPA East or West and was chosen solely by the company, after inspecting the facility this past week with ALPA West, AFA East will not endorse this property and we fully expect the company discontinue the use of this facility.

One of our two current SFO-long properties, the one in which houses the majority of our crewmembers will be undergoing a name change in May, the company AFA and ALPA have be assured by the ownership of the hotel that all of the amenities that we currently enjoy will remain the same after the name change.

Site Inspections Completions/Decisions

AMS - A site inspection was performed in this market in late January. Twelve properties were visited, with six being recommended including the incumbent by AFA and ALPA. The company chose to renew with the incumbent for three years effective 3/31/06.

BOS /L- A site inspection was performed in this market in late March. Six properties were visited, with three being recommended by AFA and ALPA. A decision is expected by the end of April.

RDU /S - A site inspection was performed in this market in mid April due to a cap being placed on the amount of crewmembers the incumbent would allow on a daily basis, the incumbent will be used along with one additional property. Four properties were visited, with two being recommended by AFA. A decision is expected by the end of April.

MSY /S - A site inspection was performed in this market on one property in late April. The reason being is that the incumbent had suffered more damage than first expected from the recent hurricane and would be unable to except our first crewmembers that begin arriving May 6th. The property that was inspected by AFA-East was one that the West had been using previously and after review AFA-East will agree on the use of the facility.

MXP /Milan - A site inspection was performed in this market in late March. Nine properties were visited, with two being recommended by AFA and ALPA. A decision is expected by the end of April.

ARN /Stockholm - A site inspection was performed in this market in late March. Four properties were visited, with two being recommended by AFA and ALPA. A decision is expected by the end of April.

LIS /Lisbon - A site inspection was performed in this market in early April. Twelve properties were visited, with four being recommended by AFA and ALPA. A decision is expected by the end of April.

Anticipated Site Inspections May / June / July

MUC - to be determined
FCO - to be determined
LGW - to be determined
MCI /L - to be determined
BTV L/S - to be determined
