...the US Airways MEC Uniform Newsletter

Dear Members,

- Update Express-

You're free! You're free! At last you are finally free or at least through October. The following statement has been issued from US Airways management:

Date: May 01, 2006

Subject: Seasonal Uniform Modifications (Ties)

Effective immediately, Flight Attendant neckwear/ties are optional. All neckwear/ties all optional through October 30, 2006 (date coincides with wearing jackets).

When the uniform shirt is worn without a tie, ONLY the top button of the shirt may be unbuttoned.

All other uniform policies remain the same.

Ok, so there it is. Just because you have something to show does not mean you have been given the green light to show it. This applies to women as well as the men. Thank you all in advance for keeping to the policy that has been prescribed.

As some of you may know, this policy  was provided to America West Flight Attendants last year. Although the two Flight Attendant groups are still working under two different uniform policies, our appreciation goes out to Robin Walter and Bob Spinner, America West MEC Uniform co-chairs, for including the East Flight Attendants in their proposed request for this seasonal uniform change. If you would like to express your gratitude and I am sure many of you would send them a thank you at uniforms66@cox.net.

That is all for now. Look for a new "From the Hanger" coming at you later in the month with an update for the NEW US Airways Uniform.
