The Uniform Committee has finalized the
road show schedule and the locations where you will be able to see, touch
and for a select few of you manhandle me...oops typo, I mean the new US
Airways uniform. The uniform will be presented on models selected from the
uniform committee and I assure you that all shapes and sizes will be
represented not just petit little things like myself (for those of you who
know me get off the floor and stop laughing). Attending each city
presentation, with the uniform committee members, will be members of
Senior Management, In-flight, representatives from our new uniform company
TwinHill, your respective LEC Uniform Chairs and of course the man who has
created our tremendous new look Stan Herman.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for each of you to come out and see
the new look of US Airways. It will also give the committee a chance to
hear your opinions, ideas and concerns. We look forward to seeing you at
one or more of the eight locations we will be appearing.

It's Q & A time again.....
Question: A friend of mine has been wearing all cotton shirts for over
a year and I recently asked him about it. He said that he can't wear our
uniform shirts because of the polyester blend. He has some skin issue with
them. He also told me that the company knows and said it was ok. Is this
true and if it is what is the policy?
Answer: I can't confirm or deny your friends skin issues, but the rest
is true. The company will allow the you to wear an all cotton shirt, at
the employees expense, if you can provide the proper medical information.
If you contact your in-flight supervisor the can assist you in getting the
proper forms. Thank you for your question.
Question: If we are going to merge with Delta why are we still going
forward with this new uniform? Isn't that just a waste of money?
Answer: Well, as of this writing it has been not confirmed if we are or
we are not merging with Delta Airlines. To shed additional light on this
subject..... if, that is a BIG if, we do merge with Delta Airlines it is
not a guarantee that we would keep the Delta program. Cost, vendor,
distribution and other agreements will have to be reviewed before a
decision can be made on which program will provide the company and the
employees the best product and cost savings. So before you start cursing
me out come o one of the road shows and see what are program looks like
for yourself. I think you and many of your co-workers will be quite
surprised and happy with the new US Airways uniform.
Well, that is all from Candi and I. We look forward to seeing all of you
in one the eight cities listed above. Bring your questions, your fashion
sense and more importantly bring me a Mt Dew because I am going to need
the caffeine. Hope to see you there.
