Safety On Board

December 2, 2007

Dear Members,

As we are all well aware one of the primary functions of our profession as a flight attendant is to promote a safe and healthy environment for all our customers, internal and external alike. We are approaching the cold and flu season and there is a deadly strain of a staph infection infection called MERSA out there. We MUST do our part to help stop the spread of these and other communicable diseases.

-- Do NOT set up water stations anywhere on any aircraft. Nothing should be served from the top of any trash containers due to health and sanitations issues. F/A's should pour glasses of water when a request is made by a passenger.

-- No items are to be stored in any a/c oven other than entrees that require heating. These items are boarded by the catering department only.

-- Do not place ANY items (wine bottles, seatbelt extensions, trash bags, headsets, etc, etc.) in the "magazine type" holders in the entry/galley areas of the AB a/cs. The only item authorized in these holders is the CML-Cabin Log Book. All other items MUST be in carts or carriers. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

-- Laptop computers are not allowed to be stored in seatback pockets for taxi, takeoff and landing.

-- PSK and LSK kits are to be kept and stowed in there original stored locations in the overhead bins.

-- Reminder during the "ALL CALL" portion of the departure and arrival sequence ALL F/A's MUST be at their assigned doors/jump seat locations.

-- Lights must be on BRIGHT for boarding, safety briefing: oral, cabin check: pre-departure and approach and also for deplaning. NO EXCEPTIONS, this is a big safety issue and the lights are not subject to mood lighting.

Thank You,
