Governance:

Participating unions, including AFA, will share a seat on the company’s Board of Directors. (ALPA will have its own seat.)

Verification:

If concessionary negotiations with ALPA achieve less than the proportionate saving agreed to by AFA, wage rates for flight attendants will be adjusted such that the flight attendant group achieves the same percentage of its savings target.

Longevity Pay:

For flight attendants with more than 14 years of service, longevity pay will be discontinued and reinstated effective December 30, 2008.

Per Diem:

The increase in meal expenses in the basic agreement effective January 1, 2003, which is $.10 for both domestic and international, shall be postponed until December 31, 2008.

Crew Meals:

Will be eliminated through December 31, 2008, then snap-back to current book. Crew meals on transoceanic flights will not be eliminated.

Uniform Allowance:

During the period through December 31, 2008, the $20.00 allowance for uniform cleaning will be eliminated, then snap-back to current book.

Reserve Override:

During the period beginning July 1, 2002 to December 31, 2005, the override will be eliminated. On January 1, 2006 there will be a $0.50 override for reserves and will snap back to $1.00 (current book) on December 31, 2008.

Personal Care Leave:

Currently, personal care leave requests require seven consecutive or more days of absence. Under this agreement, personal care leaves will only require five or more days of absence.

Unable to Commute:

Each flight attendant who commutes into their domicile will be entitled to three incidents of unable to commute without incurring dependability infractions subject to certain terms and conditions.

Personal Days:

Effective January 1, 2003, every flight attendant will be entitled to two Personal Days per calendar year. Award based on coverage (not supervisor approval). Personal Days used will be deducted from vacation accrual for the following year. Current policy for Personal Emergency Days takes effect after two Personal Days are used in a calendar year.

Bereavement Leave:

As an enhancement to bereavement leave, grandchildren will be added.

Vacation:                    Accrual:

For the first six months of the agreement (7-1-02 through 12-31-02), accrual rate for vacation in 2003 will be reduced by 20%. Vacation accrued for use in 2002 WILL NOT BE AFFECTED.

From 1-1-03 through 12-31-08 vacation accrual rates will be reduced by 10%.

Every year, starting in 2003, your vacation will be reduced by 10%. Vacation accrual in 2009 will snap back to current book. See tables on following pages.

Note: Flight attendants who are “red-circled” with respect to vacation accrual will have their accrual rates reduced from their “red-circled” rate, not the rates shown above. (This is to the flight attendant’s advantage.) Once a “red circled” flight attendant moves off a red-circled rate, his/her accrual rates will be those shown above. (See Section 7.A)

Effective with this agreement, former Shuttle flight attendants will be placed on the mainline vacation chart.

Vacation Pay and Credit:

The Company will pay agreed-upon fees and expenses incurred by the union in connection with the review, design, negotiation, approval, ratification and implementation of the Restructuring Program.
