Duration:                    6.5 years (July 1, 2002 through December 31, 2008)

Wage reduction:            Wage rates for years 1 through 5 will not be reduced.

Wage rates for years 6 and above will be reduced by 8.4% effective July 1, 2002. Thereafter, starting on January 1, 2004, wage rates for years 6 and above will increase as follows:

                                                         January 1, 2004      +2%

                                                         January 1, 2005      +2%

                                                         January 1, 2006      +2%

                                                         January 1, 2007      +2.9%

                                                         January 1, 2008      +2.9%

For years 1 through 5, rates will increase 2.9% effective January 1, 2008. The new rates are set forth in the wage table on the following page. “Status quo” raises: If the Company and the union have not reached a new collective bargaining agreement by December 31, 2008 (the amendable date of this agreement), wage rates will increase by 3% on January 1, 2009, and on each January 1st thereafter until a new contract is signed. The period between the amendable date of this agreement and the effective date of a new agreement is known under the Railway Labor Act as the status quo period. 

 

Change in control snap back: If there is a change in control of the Company – for example, another company purchases US Airways – wages will snap back to rates in effect on June 30, 2002.
