November 23, 2004

Dear Council 70 Flying Partners,

In my most recent missive, I asked that you sign up for the Council 40 E-line so you would not miss anything while I am otherwise engaged with the NC.

I apologize, seems there may be a problem with flooding the system, especially if you are already on both the MEC e-line and the PHL News Line.  In addition, I sometimes forget just how big we are and that if we, en masse, sign up for a smaller bases e-line we could over tax both their system and their LECP, which would not really be fair.

For the above reasons, I believe I have found a solution that will be more user friendly yet will keep you both updated and better informed:

When something new comes out from one of the other bases, that is not base specific, I will send the link out to you so you can read it.

In order to not flood your mail files with unnecessary fodder, anything that is a repeat of the PHL News Line or the MEC e-line will not be sent.

We are very big and may be a little too much for the others to handle if we all went and signed up at once ;- )

So do not worry about signing up for the other bases.  However, if you feel you are missing something, you can always read what each base is putting out to their members simply by visiting www.afausairways.org

Once on the home page, you will see a box on the left where you can link on to each bases own web page (just point the mouse at the name of the base you with to visit and click.)  There you will find the info put out by each base's LEC President including archives of past News Lines.    Don't forget to also visit PHL ;- )

Another place you might want to visit, especially considering the call to action by AFA is www.afanet.org. There is some great info over there concerning the need for the strike authorization.

BTW, today your MEC (all the LEC Presidents) approved a letter along with a Q & A to be sent to your home.  The letter explains and answers questions about the upcoming vote to authorize a strike.  Please look for it in the mail in the next few days as it should clear up any concerns you may have about why your should for IN FAVOR.

Below is a link to today's CLT e-line which I have signed onto and support 100%.  Please take the time to read it.  Thanks. http://www.afausairways.org/CLT/clt_enews.html

Happy Thanksgiving.

May you have more turkey & fixing's than you can possibly eat.  May you share this Holiday with family, good friends or a fun crew.

Even though times have never been tougher, I just wanted you to know that I am very proud and thankful to be associated with the wonderful Flight Attendant professionals at this great airline.
