PHL COUNCIL 70 MEETING
Our LEC meeting is just around the corner – Wednesday, Oct. 21 to be exact.  The meeting will be held at the PHL Airport Ramada.  Hector Adler, VP – Inflight, will be there from 10a-11a for a Q & A session and then our meeting will start at 11a.  The Ramada offers free shuttle service to/from PHL.  Go to:  http://www.ramadaphl.com/  for more information.  See you on Oct. 21st at 10am.

BLOCK TIME FOR NOVEMBER, 2009
For November, 2009, there are:
1195 PRI positions
240 SEC positions
8 SEC LOD/O positions.  This represents a total of 1,443 B/H positions.  As a comparison, in November, 2008, there were 1,418 total B/H positions, so we’ve increased 25 positions year-over-year in PHL for November.

GENERAL REMINDERS
** Once in a while, we will receive a call from a reserve flight attendant who is scheduled to fly to CLT for recurrent training and their flight takes a mechanical delay and, ultimately, ends up cancelling.  If this happens to you, call scheduling once you have been notified that the flight has cancelled so that you can be released and you will then be given your 8+30 of uninterrupted rest.  Call training registration to reschedule.

** The Flight Attendant Crew Bunk arbitration will resume in December.  Meanwhile, please remember that the pilot crew rest areas (Bunk and Envoy seat) are for pilots.  Please continue to send your write-ups regarding the current A330-200 F/A crew rest situation, as it pertains to flights to/from TLV to:  council70@afausairways.org  and your comments will be forwarded to the MEC and AFA staff attorney for our arbitration.

** Section 30.F.4.8 of your F/A contract (page 30-6) refers to a F/A who has been awarded the jumpseat may occupy an otherwise unoccupied passenger seat after the door has closed and before the aircraft moves.  Please refer to this page for more information.
