Hello Everyone,

FAILURE
TO ATTEND TRAINING
We have clarified with Labor Relations and
PHL Inflight Services exactly what is and is
not a Failure to Attend Training. If you
have received a Failure to Attend Training
letter from your Inflight Supervisor, please
contact the AFA office at 215-492-0840 so we
can review your file. PHL Inflight has
recently been issuing discipline for what is
essentially a rescheduling. If you call
Training Registration any time prior to the
close of business, which is 4:30pm, the day
before your training, this is a rescheduling
and not a Failure to Attend training. If you
call after Training Registration has closed
or, if you call off same day training (prior
to the start of your class), this is a
failure to attend but it is not a
dependability infraction. The only time this
would be considered an infraction is if you
fail to show up for your training. Any
Failure to Attend training letter in your
file that was a rescheduling or a same day
call-off will be removed from your file. Any
discipline as a result of a Failure to
Attend will be rescinded unless you actually
failed to show up for training without
notification prior to the start of your
training.
PAYROLL SURVEY REOPENED
Last week, we asked the company to reopen
the Payroll Survey because of feedback we
were receiving from our members. The company
notified me yesterday that the survey has
reopened and will be open for two weeks, so
disregard the ‘May 29’ date on the survey
page. The survey will only take about sixty
seconds and you can get there by clicking on
this link:

TEL AVIV (TLV) DOUBLE UP
We received some reports from our members
who had attended A330-200/Cultural
Differences Training and were told that you
would not be allowed to ‘Double-Up’ on TLV
trips. This is not true. The TLV-PHL flight
arrives at 0510 and the PHL-TLV flight
departs at 2115. This is a 16+05
block-to-block break and it is legal to
double-up on this trip.
