On March 27, 2008 balloting instructions were sent out and the polls opened on April 3, 2008. There has been several questions about how to register and vote. Here's a simple 'how-to' guide.

The first thing you must do is call either 800-505-4862 or 866-972-8044 and will be asked for your 16 digit Activation Code, which is located just below your address on the Voting Notice and Instructions page that you received in the mail. Once you have put this code in you will be given a VIN (Voter Id Number) and will be asked to set up a PIN (Personal ID Number). Once you have done this step you are all set to go. You can vote by telephone or internet and just have your VIN and PIN ready. When you have cast your vote you will be given a confirmation number.

Q. I have never received my activation code how can I get this?
A. Call AFA-CWA International at 800-424-2401, extension 706, between the hours of 930 am and 530 pm ET Monday – Friday.


Q. How will I know that someone else can’t get my voting information
A. When you call AFA-CWA they are going to verify your employee number, your social security number, and address that is on file.
