Hello Everyone,
This afternoon a special MEC meeting was held by
teleconference to determine if PHL-based LOD/Os should be
allowed to bid LOD/O vacancies ahead of supplemental LOD/Os
who transfer into PHL just for Transatlantic seasonal flying.
Specifically, I believe that PHL-based LOD/Os should have
precedence over supplemental LOD/Os from other bases who are
allowed to transfer into PHL for the summer, fly Transatlantic
trips for six months and then transfer back to their original
base.My motion was
as follows:
If supplemental LODO vacancies
exist due to seasonal flying they will be filled in the
following manner:
Vacancies will be filled first
by LODO qualified Flight Attendants currently domiciled in the
base where the vacancies exist and then, by Flight Attendants
based on System Seniority from all other domiciles.
Lineholder/ Reserve status
will be determined after the filling of the vacancies by
System Seniority within the entire LOD/O group.
Unfortunately, the LEC Presidents from the other bases
voted against my motion therefore, the motion failed. You now
know my position and if you would like further explanation on
this issue, and we all know how big the LOD/O program is in
these other bases, please feel free to contact those who voted
against this motion:
