Dear Members,
A lot has happened in the last month. So let's get to it. I was in the hospital for the first 10 days of December and at home in bed for 4 days after that. I would like to thank those of you that called to wish me a speedy recovery and also Terry Graf and Michael Elias for holding down the fort while I was away.
They spent many an hour at the Local office answering your questions and going to meetings.

We have watched the DCP program at US Airways really being enforced
here in PHL and I would imagine in all bases since America West management took over. As a reminder, it seems two infractions will move you to DCP I, two more to DCP II, two more DCP III and two more
terminations; I ask all of you to please be careful and pay attention to:
No sign in; check in
Catcrew to see if you are signed in for the month.
Illegal trip improving over the weekends; if you have a weekend trip and you trip improve off of it, you still need to touch the weekend days
Late check ins; the first one doesn't count for each rolling year
No shows; if you are late and are replaced, you get a no show, if you still take the trip, it is only a late check in.
Stuck Commute; if you are a registered commuter, have a back up and your flight cancels, the back up flight cancels or is over 30 minutes late or is full, you won't be charged with a stuck commute for the first 2 in any year.
Reserve out of base; you must be within 90 minutes surface time of the airport.
Sick on contact; if scheduling calls and you say you are sick, this will not only trigger a sick on contact, but will cause an audit of your travel records (as can anything that causes the company to be suspicious)
Your MEC has voted on and approved a transition agreement with AWA and management. See the MEC
E-line HERE. I believe this transition agreement is very good for those Involuntary Furloughed flight attendants that wish to go to PHX and fly. We wish we could have gotten more, but because of the difficulty we on the East had in even getting this, I feel it was the best we could get. This agreement is no less than we have had in the past when the PSA, Piedmont, and Trump Shuttle were merged into US. Most of the language the pilot's agreed to already, so we just inherited it.
The Company has also just announced the new VFLR with a deadline date of March 4, 2006 to apply. This one is an extension of the very first VFLR that was over subscribed to last year. They will be letting 100 go each in July and Sept. and 123 in November. You must be active as of the release date and had been active as of December 1, 2004. I believe the company may have to displace out of PIT and wants to get rid of as many as they can prior to the displacement to save money. Check out
our website, www.afausairways.org
or theHUB for information on the VFLR.
Look for new European destinations announced soon and new aircraft coming. Hang in there and take care of yourselves.
