In Memory of Stephanie Holloway

I am deeply saddened to inform you of the loss of a dear LGA flight attendant this past weekend. Stephanie Holloway began her career at US Airways as a flight attendant on July 11, 1999. Stephanie had passed away unexpectedly on Saturday. Arrangements have not been finalized. I will pass on the additional information as this becomes available to me. Please keep Stephanie and her family in your prayers.

December Filler Day Award

If you have submitted a request for a filler day for the month of December and have been denied, I urge everyone to contact Inflight Administration to verify the validity of the denial. There has been an apparent error in the processing of the December Filler Day Awards. This has been brought forth by a number of flight attendants on a system wide basis and it may be beneficial to double check. If you have any questions regarding this error you may call Inflight Administration at 1-800-327-0117 and follow the prompts for vacations.

Safety, Health and Security Issues

If you are faced with a safety, health or security issue and have concerns it is very important to contact an AFA/CWA Safety Representative, or an AFA/ CWA officer for guidance in handling your concerns and/or paperwork. It is important that you
DO NOT ASSUME your Union is notified simply because the Company is aware of the situation. Your AFA/ CWA Representatives will provide guidance and advice during these situations. Just as a reminder when you are involved in an incident you have 24 hours to complete the necessary paperwork. Please do not allow anyone to pressure you into filling out paperwork. It is extremely difficult to complete the necessary paperwork with accuracy immediately following a stressful incident.

Reciprocal Cabin Seat Agreements/ Spirit Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines

The reciprocal cabin seat agreements continue to increase on the heels of the announcement of Spirit Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines. Please refer to the MEC Link http://www.afausairways.org/jumpseat/index.html for specific details of these two agreements. The number is now at 6 airlines who are now participating in the reciprocity of the cabin seat agreement and hopefully more to come. This is such an important enhancement since it has been more and more difficult to commute to and from our bases.

Happy Thanksgiving

On behalf of all of your AFA/CWA officers and committees of Council 82, I would like to extend our best wishes for a safe and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. It is indeed the time of year for all of us to be thankful for everything we have and to remember those who are not as fortunate as we.

In solidarity,
