Dear fellow Council 82
Flight
Attendants,
Organizational Changes In-flight Services
As you all have been informed through your CBS, the industry has
dictated many cost cutting measures and the most recent has directly
affected the In-flight Department. The decision of Sharon
Haynes-Windham, DCA Base Manager and Terri O'Leary, LGA Base Manager
to tender their resignations within the Company has certainly come
as a surprise to our Department. Please join me in extending Sharon
and Terri and their families our best wishes in their future
endeavors.
This has prompted a great deal of reorganization in the In-flight
Department. John O'Brien, former Base Manager of BOS In-flight
Services has accepted a new position as Regional Manager In-flight
Services who will be overseeing the operational responsibilities of
the BOS, DCA and LGA domiciles. There will undoubtedly be some
hiccups in the transition period but I am somewhat optimistic this
will bring an enhanced departmental structure for the benefit of the
flight attendant group. I do believe this will create continuity
between the Shuttle Bases having one common Regional Manager
weighing in on the decision making process.
The LGA domicile will change significantly sharing a common Regional
Manager with BOS and DCA. This also has prompted a COB posting for
position of Supervisor, LGA In-flight Services. This process will be
laborious in nature beginning with a COB Posting, followed by a
lengthy interview process. Once a Supervisor is selected there will
be a period of time before they will be completely up to speed in
their new position. During the interim period I urge you to contact
the following Supervisors to address your needs.
Donna Kenty BOS In-flight @ 617-634-4331...

Bonnie Tyler DCA In-flight @ 703-872-2881...

Sheila Fraites DCA In-flight @ 703-872-2883...
sheila.fraites@usairways.com
I have contacted these supervisors and they are more than willing to
serve our needs both during the interim period as well as the period
of time required by the newly appointed Supervisor becoming
familiarized in his/her position. I am always available to assist in
your needs and will work with these individuals as well as Mr.
O'Brien to resolve any issues that may arise during this
transitional period. I have requested a meeting with John to discuss
his departmental POR and the potential changes surrounding the same.
John has agreed to meet to discuss his plans at a mutually
convenient time. If you have any questions or concerns that you wish
to address with Mr. O'Brien please contact me and I will pass these
on.
