Dear fellow Council 82
Flight
Attendants,
I just want to provide you with a brief explanation of the recent changes in the base transfer list. The company has cancelled the May transfer and replaced it with a revised June Transfer list. The numbers are as follows:
PHL +375 LGA +30 BOS +20 DCA +20
I have received numerous telephone calls questioning the validity of the PHL increase . This information is in fact correct and the company has indicated to AFA the necessity to build up the PHL base. The driving factors of their decision are as follows:
1. The company has purchased additional aircraft to serve new destinations in Europe.
2. The restart of existing routes serving seasonal markets in Europe.
3. Normal attrition rate.
4. The loss of flight attendants through the VFLR.
The company has indicated to me they will be reviewing the flying in all the bases and will soon be balancing the population. I appreciate your patience while LGA continues to operate at a deficit. The company has offered TDY duty to PIT based flight attendants in recent months; but realizes this is not the long term solution needed to balance the deficit. I will keep you informed of any up to date information.
Just a reminder to all... I cannot emphasize enough the importance of the documentation of EVERY telephone conversation you are involved with Crew Scheduling. It is in your best interest to record the following:
1. Date
2. Time of day
3. Name of scheduler
4. Daily Scheduling? Future Scheduling? Midnight Scheduling?
It is very difficult to pull a taped conversation without the above information and the availability of this information will assist in substantiating any claims you may have.
Fly Safe!!!!!!
In Solidarity,
