Love Prevails

This weeks been filled with pain and sorrow
I can't help but think what if tomorrow.
I go to bed at night for peace,
I close my eyes but cannot sleep.
The images so filled with fear
those lives we lost I cannot bare.
Oh why can't we turn back the clock?
Reclaim our innocence and those we lost.
Dear God what happened I can't conceive?
God please tell me what to believe.
For the places that I once felt safe,
are places now that test my faith.
the days that were will never be
I need you God are you there with me?
Tell me please what shall I do
should I move on today with you?
I sat still and listened in hopes to hear
And received a reply I'd like to share.
My dear child I did not leave,
I'm here with you-you must believe.
The world you know that's filled with hate
Is not my wish nor is your fate.
For the love I've given and the love you show
Can possess more power than you'll ever know.
For hate and fear and all the bad
hold nothing to the love I have
But love even though it does reside
must be brought fourth from a place inside
For hate can bring the buildings down
But the love you share- turns hate around.
So pass love on- to all you can
Extend your hearts -for that's where I am
Remember always that love prevails

And where love is one cannot fail.
