Other Relief Flight Updates

Dear Members,

MSY Relief Update

The effort to relocate New Orleans residents will continue today. Yesterday our crew was dispatched by FEMA to carry a group to Montgomery, Alabama. Upon arrival in Montgomery the crew was told the group they had just brought in was going to be bussed to West Palm Beach, Florida. The crew worked with officials and our dispatch to fly the people to PBI instead and they arrived at 2120 last night. The crew is now en-route to MSY and is scheduled to fly two round trips to CLT today. The second round trip is scheduled to arrive in CLT at 1930 this evening.

Additionally US Airways is taking part in two other missions today. An aircraft has departed PHL bound for JFK. The flight will be boarded by New York Fire Department members who will be flown to MSY this afternoon. A second aircraft is scheduled to fly PIT-DCA-RDU-MSY. This aircraft will be boarded by medical personnel in DCA and RDU for transport to MSY.

Thank you,

The MEC
