Dear Members,
CANCELLATION OF E190 FLYING DUE TO THE SALE
OF 10 E190 AIRCRAFT
The recent Company decision to sell 10 E190 aircraft has led to the transfer of
two E190 aircraft to the buyer- Republic Airlines in November. With two aircraft
coming out of the US Airways fleet after the November trips and lines were bid
and awarded, numerous cancellations of E190 flights and, in some cases, entire
trips have resulted.
The Company has agreed with the AFA's position because the lines and trips were
published and awarded prior to the cancellations, any Flight Attendant who loses
time, either through segment or trip cancellations on E190 equipment, will be
pay protected for the original value of the published trip.
The pay protection will also apply to any affected trip awarded via the AIL or
SAP. Please submit a claim upon completion of a trip with cancelled segments or
upon the cancellation of the entire trip.
Your claim will not be reduced by any other flying picked up through the AIL or
ETB during the November bid month.
The Company CBS referenced below.
Subject: EMB 190 Cancellation
CLT AND PHL FA ONLY
The recent sale of ten E190 aircraft has resulted in flight cancellations during
the November bid month. This was unavoidable due to the fact that two aircraft
were removed from our system after the November schedules had already been
awarded. The Company has made the decision due to the unique circumstances to
exceed the requirements set forth in the contract and pay protect flight
attendants for cancelled segments or for the few pairings that were cancelled in
their entirety. Therefore, if the flight attendant's trip was altered due to the
above referenced aircraft sale event, she/he will be entitled to submit a claim
for the original published value of the trip after flying the trip or upon
cancellation of a trip. This will also apply to a trip that was awarded from the
AIL or via SAP.
This process will only affect the November bid month as the schedule going
forward has been adjusted to accommodate the removal of aircraft for future
months.
Thank you,
