Dear Members,

Things you need to know if you are awarded Vacation Buyback for December

If you are a Primary Lineholder awarded vacation Buyback for the month of December you will be able to SAP up to the 90 hour MAX plus the value of your vacation. In doing so, your new MAX and OBL will automatically become 90 hours. For example, if you SAP up to 110 hours you will not be able to call scheduling to drop for over projection because you will have over projected yourself via SAP. If you have trips in your line over your vacation you will be able to use the AIL to trip improve or drop, but if you drop below your post SAP OBL you will owe the company and you are also subject to the weekend restriction if your trip touched the weekend even on your vacation days. As always you can utilize the ETB to drop/trade your trips.

As a Secondary Lineholder awarded vacation Buyback for the month of December you will be able to augment up to the 90 hour MAX plus the value of your vacation. The same rules then apply as above, you will not be able to call scheduling after the fact and drop for over projection. You can also make use of the AIL to trip improve or drop and you will be subject to any weekend restriction even on your vacation days if applicable. You can also make use of the ETB to drop/trade your trips.

As a Reserve awarded vacation Buyback for the month of December, you will be able to make yourself AVL at your LTO on your vacation days. Keep in mind, if you do this and you get a company time trip, that trip will count toward your LTO and will NOT paid above your pay guarantee as an ETB trip would be. For a Reserve, an ETB trip over your vacation is probably the better choice.

Clarification on Vacation Buyback

Secondary Lineholders who have trips that fall in their vacation may also have such trips reinstated by calling crew scheduling prior to the opening of Secondary Line Augmentation.

***Please note, in a month vacation Buyback is not offered you are only over projected if you are over the MAX hours set by the Director of Crew Scheduling. If the MAX is set at 90 hours and your line value is 75 and you have 10 hours of vacation that gives you 85 hours, you are not over projected***

The Company sent the following CBS this morning regarding Vacation Buyback:

The following CBS has been sent to all East FAs:

December vacation Buyback closes October 30th at Noon ET. Once your
form has been received (all requests will be honored), your Catcrew
Option 2 will be updated accordingly. SAP will reset your MAX to 90:00
or 105:00 whichever is applicable PLUS the value of your vacation.
Option 37 "SAP Bid Input Screen" will display the same information. If you
have already submitted a Buyback form for December, please refer to your
Option 2 and Option 37 for the "AWARDED VACATION BUYBACK" notice.

Primary lineholders whose December trips are dropped because of vacation
must contact Crew Scheduling before SAP closes for your Base in order to
have those trips re-instated, if so desired. Only full trips may be
re-instated during SAP.

A Primary lineholder who does not wish to have her/his trips re-instated
may pick up additional time through SAP. In addition, you may use the AIL
to pick up trips over your vacation period(s) or at any other time during
the December buyback month.

Secondary Lineholders whose December trips are dropped because of vacation,
must contact Crew Scheduling before Secondary Line Augmentation opens in order
to have those trips re-instated, if so desired.

Secondary Lineholders awarded buyback for December may use Secondary Line
Augmentation and the AIL to pick up trips over his/her vacation period(s)
or at any other time during the December buyback month.
