Reduction in Weekday Flying
Reduction in Weekday
Flying
The Company has announced
they will be reducing the weekday flying schedule in December. This
will not result in a reduction of total fleet size. As a result of
the reduction in weekday flying, the Company needed 915 full-time equivalent
employees to take the VF2. Currently more than that 915 Flight Attendants
have applied for VF2 as of yesterday's October 24th closing date.
The final list of Flight Attendants awarded the VF2 will be announced on
Monday, October 28, 2002.
The Company also anticipates
that there will be Voluntary Personal Leaves of Absence for the months
of January, February, and March.
More information will be
posted to the AFA US Airways website and on the E-Line as soon as possible.

Vacation Days for the 2002
Re-bid
Vacation Days Vacated
by VF2 Flight Attendants
The December 2002 vacations
that become available due to Flight Attendants taking VF2 starting this
December, cannot be re-bid for the December 2002 rebids. The remaining
vacations that become available due to those taking VF2 (Jan thru May)
can be monthly re-bid for 2003.
Flight Attendants taking
the VF2 will be giving up their vacation through the length of their leave.
That vacation, which falls into 2003, will be available to active Flight
Attendants in the monthly re-bid process for the year 2003, only. Any vacated
vacation that occurs in 2002, will not be available for re-bid.
We hope this helps. If there
are still questions concerning the Vacation Re-bid, please contact you
Local AFA Representative.
