Voluntary
Furlough Program (VF2) Reminder
The Company is offering Voluntary
Furloughs to active, available flight attendants who would not otherwise
be furloughed, so that flight attendants who would otherwise be involuntarily
furloughed may remain active. The
The VF2 differs somewhat
from the voluntary furlough offered last year (VF1). The main difference
between the VF1 and the VF2 is medical coverage. Where the VF1 offered
paid medical for 24 months; the VF2 is offering paid medical for 120 days.
The closing date for VF2 is October 24th, 2002.
Inflight Administration must
receive the VF2 request form by October 24, 2002. It is your responsibility
to ensure that we have received your request. You may confirm our receipt
by calling 1-800-327-0117, Prompts 1, 4, 1. Late requests will not be accepted
and awards will be posted no later than noon on Friday, November 1, 2002.
Voluntary Separation Program
(VSIP)
As a reminder, the Voluntary
Separation Program (VSIP) application and release form must be postmarked
by October 26th, 2002.
In order to qualify for the
VSIP, an employee must have completed at least five five years of service
with the Company as of October 26, 2002. If more than 723 eligible
Flight Attendants apply for the Program, participants will be selected
based upon seniority using the competitive bidding seniority date.
To be considered for participation,
you must complete the Voluntary Separation Program 2002 Application and
Release Form, and return it to:

Release forms must be postmarked
no later than October 26, 2002.
Faxes will not be accepted.
If you elect to participate
in the Program, you will voluntarily resign your position at US Airways
and will not maintain recall rights. You will not be provided with
severance benefits, nor will you be eligible for unemployment compensation.

AFA
International Officers Re-Elected
San Francisco- Members of
the Board of Directors of the Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO,
re-elected the union's International Officers at their annual Board of
Directors meeting, currently being held in San Francisco.
Patricia Friend will be serving
her third term as International President. International Vice President;
George M. Donahue and International Secretary-Treasurer Paul MacKinnon
were both re-elected to their second terms. The officers were elected to
four-year terms, set to begin January 1, 2003.
The AFA Board of Directors
is made up of the elected flight attendant leaders from AFA's Councils
around the world. |
