Dear Members,

SENIORITY LIST MERGER PROCESS NOW UNDERWAY

On 4 October, 2005 Seniority Verification letters were sent, via certified mail - return receipt requested, to all flight attendants on the US Airways Flight Attendant Seniority List. This letter asks each flight attendant to verify their Seniority Number, and their SID (Seniority Integration Date).

Please be aware that due to the production time needed to get these letters printed and mailed, the seniority number and SID used is as of 29 August 2005. Due to normal attrition, the current US Airways Flight Attendant Seniority List is slightly different than the list used to produce the Seniority Verification letter. An individual flight attendant's Seniority Number may have changed since the Seniority Verification letters were run. This is likely due to attrition in our work group - flight attendants leaving the company for whatever reason (termination, resignation, etc.). The SID (date for bidding purposes) should not have changed. This date, for most flight attendants, is their first date of training. For some flight attendants, it is an adjusted SID (for example, former Piedmont F/A's whose date was established during the Piedmont-USAir merger). It is this SID that must be verified as correct.

If a flight attendant agrees that the SID contained in his/her letter is correct, he/she will need do nothing. However, if a flight attendant believes that the SID reflected in his/her letter is incorrect, he/she should challenge the committee's findings by requesting a hearing within thirty (30) days of his/her receipt of the Seniority Verification letter. Please provide written documentation to support any challenge. All requests for hearing that are received on time will be granted.

Please be aware that the seniority information provided for certain flight attendants reflects their current position on the list. Management flight attendants and flight attendants participating in any of the VFLR programs will have their SID's adjusted upon their return to active flying status per the applicable agreements between AFA and US Airways.

If you have not received any of this information within the next couple of weeks or would like more information, please contact your local LEC office. A list of all LEC contacts can be found at www.afausairways.org.

US Airways Health Plan Audit

If you have received the "US Airways Health Plan Audit - Your Response is Required" packet in the mail last week, please do not ignore this information or throw this package out. This packet is a little different than the past packets, since the past benefits packets were amnesty packets or packets that did not require any feedback. This "Plan Audit" needs your attention because ALL dependents need to be "verified" by documentation proving your dependents eligibility. There is a list of accepted documents included in this packet (tax forms, w-4's, etc). If the employee does not verify the dependants by December 28th, 2005, the dependent(s) that are currently enrolled will be DROPPED from coverage and classified as INELIGIBLE.

This important information needs your attention and should not be shoved into the corner of your "Bill Boxes" and forgotten, or tossed into the trash.

Thank You,

Your MEC
