The Negotiating Committee has been meeting over the weekend with US Airways to reach an agreement which would avoid an immediate 23% pay cut for Flight Attendants, our outside counsel has been preparing the AFA’s written opposition to the pending 1113(e) motion. That opposition is due on Tuesday, October 5. The hearing on the 1113(e) motion is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 7. Absent an agreement, US Airways is seeking an order cutting pay immediately or, in any event, no later than October 15. If a hearing does go forward, our counsel intends to rely primarily on testimony from Dan Akins to rebut the company’s economic analysis and to address the specific terms and valuations of the 1113(e) proposal and AFA’s counter-proposals. Please click on HERE to read the brief that was filed with the bankruptcy court by AFA's bankruptcy counsel in response to the Company's motion under section 1113(e) regarding interim relief.
