Strike/CHAOS Ballot

The US Airways Strike/CHAOS ballot is being conducted electronically using the telephone or the Internet.

As you know, USAirways has filed a "Section 1113" motion asking the Bankruptcy Court to permit rejection of the AFA - US Airways collective bargaining agreement, including termination of the flight attendant defined benefit pension plan. AFA will, as required by law, continue to engage in good faith negotiations with the Company over a new contract. The Union will not, however, participate willingly in the destruction of the Flight Attendant profession and of our careers. 

That is why it is so important for the USAirways flight attendants to send a message to the Company, and to the whole airline industry. Your MEC and your Negotiating Committee urge you to vote FOR the Strike/CHAOS ballot. (Read the entire letter from Pat Friend AFA Intl. President at http://www.afausairways.org/chaos/)
