Your Action Needed Now on Critical Legislation

There is critical legislation going through the U.S.  House of Representatives Appropriations Committee that will be voted on tomorrow, May 9th.  The legislation would move to an earlier date the June 28th deadline for air carriers applying for federal loan guarantees that Congress made available to air carriers following the disasters of September 11.

This date change would severely harm US Airways' chances of securing a much-needed loan guarantee.

Please send this fax to your U.S.  Representative today by clicking on the following action alert link via the web: http://www.unionvoice.org/campaign/actionalert_5802

Please go directly to the above link to easily send the FAX.

Subject: Dear Representative

Dear [decision maker name automatically inserted here],

I am a flight attendant with US Airways and a constituent living in your Congressional District.

Please contact members of the House Appropriations Committee and tell them that changing the deadlines set out by Congress immediately following the events of September 11 that allow air carriers to apply for federal loan guarantees to assist with financial difficulties caused by the terrorist attacks is wrong.

US Airways has followed the law in good faith, expending money and energy to meet the requirements and deadlines set out by the Stabilization Board which oversees the airline loan guarantee process. The deadline for this process must not now be changed.

Thank you for your attention to this important issue that could affect the lives of US Airways 36,000 employees and our families.

Sincerely,
