Crew Accommodations Committee Update - May 2003

EWR (L)

The Company is finally in the process of entertaining

bids for this RON. The actual site inspection is anticipated

to take place by the end of this month. The Committee

received a large volume of OF310 forms referencing

this property. Please continue to submit your feedback,

since it only reinforces the need to vacate this facility.

SYR (L)

The Committee communicated to the Company the Flight

Attendants dissatisfaction with this property several

months ago. Alternative properties in the downtown

area were almost non-existent. The Sheraton University

Center was not interested in crew business and the

only other alternatives were properties situated in

suburban areas where crewmembers would have to rely

on van transportation. Recently, however, a new hotel

opened in the downtown area. AFA brought it to the

attention of the Company and is pursuing it as a potential

alternative. Please continue to submit your feedback

on this overnight. AFA needs your support to expedite

the departure from our present facility.

LAS

The property located on the Strip continues to present

challenges which have been communicated directly both

to the hotel and the Company. The Committee has expressed

its dissatisfaction with the hotel and its attempts

at resolution to our issues. Please be assured that

your Committee continues to pursue these issues until

a remedy is achieved.

GSO (L)

The Company is using the short RON property as a temporary

solution until a suitable long RON has been found.

AFA has impressed upon them the need for an expeditious

resolution.

SFO

The primary hotel used in this city has expressed concerns

regarding charges for incidentals left unpaid. Should

this continue, the hotel stated its next step would

be to insist a credit card be required upon check-in.

Please remember to take care of any charges you incur.

However, if you have been incorrectly accused of skipping

out on charges, please bring this to the Committee's

attention.

3rd Quarter Crew Accommodations Committee Meeting

The next meeting with the Company and ALPA will take

place in the beginning of June. The primary purpose

of these meetings is to address cities where issues

exist and changes need to be implemented. General procedural

issues and items are also on the agenda. Please present

the Committee with any items you view as needing attention.

We thank those of you who continue to take the time

to complete OF310 forms either in paper forms or online.

This data is accessed when prioritizing topics of discussion

for the meetings.

To present issues for the meeting, please contact your

local Committee Representative or the following individuals:

Lynne Caramello - (781)289-8454 or clc5@msn.com

Audrey Federoff-Lindner (724)255-4455, (724)942-3039

or alindner@afausairways.org

OF310 Replies

When submitting OF310 forms, please provide a phone

number or an e-mail address if you request a reply.

Replies via COMAT and crew mailboxes are no longer

available. If in the past you requested a reply and

did not receive one, please accept the Committee's

apologies. We tried to accommodate everyone, however,

found it to be quite difficult. Often times, crewmembers

submitted paper forms in a timely manner relative to

their issue but the Committee did not actually receive

them for several weeks or even months. The most expeditious

way to communicate OF310 forms is via e-mail where

the forms can be found on the AFA website. The address

is afausairways.org and then click on forms. Help us

help you by providing the Committee with your OF310

forms.
