Subject: CATCREW (from home) passwords
Effective May 14th, 2006, when logging into CATS from home, the minimum password length will change. The new minimum password length will become 7 characters, meaning that only 7 or 8 character passwords will be allowed. This change will not affect users until they change their passwords, then is when they'll be forced to adhere to the new password length rules. Users having less than seven character passwords on May 1 will be able to continue to use their passwords until they expire. No other password rule is changing, only the minimal length.
This does not affect your CATCREW PIN, only the IMS password when you log in from home using
Flightline.
This change is being implemented to allow the systems to pass external audits as well as to increase password strength. If you have a question about or problem with your password, please contact the CATCREW Help
Desk - 336-744-6000.
Password Rules After This Implementation:
- Must be 7 or 8 characters in length.
- Must contain both alpha and numeric characters.
- Not case sensitive.
- No special characters allowed.
- Expires after 45 days.
- Password can not use your userid (U0xxxxx) as part
of the password.
- Password history of three (plus current) is kept and
can not be reused.
Thank you.
