CFO NEAL COHEN RESIGNS

US Airways announced yesterday that Dave Davis has been named chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Davis, who previously was US Airways' senior vice president of finance, replaces Neal S. Cohen, who has chosen to leave the company Mr. Cohen had a clause in his contract that allowed him to exercise an option to leave if former CEO Dave Siegel left. As a result, Mr. Cohen will also enjoy a lucrative compensation award for leaving the Company.

PREF BID DELAY

The Company has advised AFA that finance has delayed implementation of the pref bid system for at least 90 days. AFA has asked our Legal Department to look into this matter since the December 2002 Restructuring Agreement clearly stated that pref bid would be implemented by no later than June 2004. As soon as we have additional information available, we will let you know.

MEC TO HEAR NEW REVISED BUSINESS PLAN

Your MEC will be meeting with the Company on Thursday, May 6 at Company headquarters to hear the new revised business plan. I would expect that the Company will be asking AFA to engage in another round of concessionary negotiations at that time or shortly thereafter. The MEC will have a special meeting this Friday to discuss the Company's plan and to discuss what course of action we should take.
