Dear Members,
The following CBS message was sent
to all Flight Attendants on Thursday, May 14, 2009.
~~~~~~~
Subject: Alert - SAP Double ups and pairings that exceed 14 hours
SAP & TI Double-ups (without legal domicile rest): When either side of a
double up is a TI trip the SAP rules require 90 minutes (block to block) between
the two trips. The requirement is different from the practice of 60 minutes
(block to block) between trips when doubling up via the AIL or ETB awards.
Bidding TLV: At the current time, the Company has elected to have ten
(10) non-LODO flight attendants assigned to TLV flights plus one (1) interpreter
(non-flight attendant) that will be seated in a passenger seat for take-off and
landing. The A330-200 core pairings will have nine (9) non-LODO positions
(A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, and I). The tenth non-LODO flight attendant will be
scheduled via a separate pairing called the 33J.
TLV Pairings 92012 on June 30 and Pairing 92002 on July 1st: The first
time these pairings will be available for bidding will be via the applicable AIL
and awarded in seniority order. Once the required flag rules are installed and
validated within the computer systems, the pairings will be loaded into CATCREW. The actual pairing(s) will not be viewable in CATCREW (option 4, 11,
etc.) until:
1) The afternoon of May 28th for pairing 92012/30 June and the 33J pairing which
is 03002/30June.
2) The afternoon of May 29th for pairing 92002/01 July and the 33J pairing which
is 03001/01July.
Bid Packages: The A330-200 core pairings and lines will be in the AB-33F
package which has a salmon colored cover page. The AB-33J position (tenth
position) will be located behind the core pairings and lines respectively.
SAP & TLV: When using the Generic Bid Filter Screen to locate pairing
numbers you can use "Equipment Selections" and put an "X" by 33 to find the core
pairing plus the AB-33J position. After such entry, all the A330-300 and
A330-200 pairings that operate on that date will appear. Next, arrange the
pairings that appear in the order you prefer and edit out the pairings you do
not want. Another way to locate the TLV pairings when using the Generic Bid
Filter Screen would be to utilize the category 'RON City Selections'. Enter TLV
under the category titled "Must RON In". By using this method only the TLV core
pairing and associated 33J pairing for the date you entered will appear.
TLV to TLV in a Calendar Day (with legal domicile rest): Multiple
Pairings in one calendar day must have a scheduled legal duty break at home
domicile between the two pairings. If you wanted to return from TLV and
originate TLV on the same calendar day the rest break is 16+00 block to block
per the Contract. Such 16+00 would be from scheduled arrival in PHL to scheduled
departure from PHL. However, a flight attendant, at his/her option, may waive
the 16+00 to the FAR minimum which in this case would be 14+00 block to block
(12+00 pure rest). SAP, AIL and ETB will be programmed to accepted such minimum
for the TLV to TLV combination.
Additionally, TLV on duty period 2 to the pairing that deadheads to CLT to RON
and then flies to CDG on duty period 2 can be waived to a 12+00 block to block
because another FAR minimum applies in this case. Remember: When utilizing SAP
for this combination or any other you may check the legalities as stated in the
above paragraph. Please read 'Checking Legalities' on page 29 of the SAP manual.
The SAP manual is located on the Hub.
TLV Pairings: TLV is the first destination whereby the duty day (dp2 the
return) exceeds a scheduled 14 hour duty day. Therefore, you may be required to
stay on duty for up to 18 hours in actual operation when returning from TLV
because Section 12 .B. 2 a. (b) page 12-1 of the CBA line 41.
