Dear Members,

Please read below information regarding the implementation of the Electronic Trade Board (ETB). If you need further detailed information, please contact your local union representatives.

Teddy
MEC President, AFA-CWA

MAY BIDS

Please be advised that effective May 1, 2005, the options will be eliminated. Flight attendants will have the ability to use the Electronic Trade Board (ETB) to reduce their flying obligation, however, it is extremely important to remember that you will be obligated to the trips in your line if no one takes them from you via the ETB or if you are unable to drop trips via the TWOP (Time Off Without Pay) process by contacting crew scheduling. In addition, your obligation is your primary line value or post-SAP primary line value, whichever is greater

If you are a secondary lineholder, your obligation is your secondary line value or post-augmentation secondary line value, whichever is greater.

The ETB will be available for the May bid month beginning on April 23 after the reserve lines are awarded. At that time, any lineholding flight attendant can post trips on the ETB that he/she would like to give away, post trips for trade, and trade vacation days. Reserves can pick up trips on INV or OFF days and trade INV or OFF days, as well as trade vacation days. More information on specifics and how to use the ETB will be forthcoming.

Please consider this information when bidding for the month of May. The higher your line value, the more trips you will have to post via the ETB to reduce your obligation."

Commencing around April 11, there will be trainers available in the crew rooms to acclimate flight attendants to this new system and process for as long as it takes flight attendants to become comfortable with the process.
