Dear Members,

Subject: CBS Message - February Training Pay

The following message was sent this afternoon:

Starting with the February bid month, training pay was to be paid at a flat rate of $60 per day. The way this was to be reflected on your pay stub was 3 hours of pay at $20 per hour (3x$20=$60) for each training day. Unfortunately, due to a computer processing issue, the 3 hours paid out at your normal hourly rate of pay.  This resulted in an overpayment.  Please be advised that if you received training pay, the overpayment to you will be deducted from your next paycheck.

Please accept our apologies for this error.

CREW ACCOMMODATIONS UPDATE   FEBRUARY / MARCH

CMH / L: As mentioned in the previous update a site inspection was completed in January in this market. Four downtown properties were visited, including the incumbent and one airport property.

AFA and ALPA recommended the three downtown properties prior to the incumbent and did not recommend the airport property for our long RON's.

The company chose to continue using the incumbent.

SFO / L:  A site inspection was performed in mid February for a second long RON property since one of our incumbent properties decided to close.
Seven properties were visited, one being an airport location that we had previously used for a short time for our long Ron's. AFA recommended two of the six downtown locations.

The company chose one of the AFA recommended properties, which is located three blocks from our former incumbent.

MIA / L:  A site inspection was performed in this market in early February and four of the properties were visited. AFA and ALPA recommended one of the four properties.
The company chose the one that AFA and ALPA both recommended.

PHX / L: As mentioned in the previous update, a site inspection was performed in this market in January. This was for and still is a temporary relocation during the incumbents' busy baseball spring training season, which is scheduled to end March 24, 2005.

Our current contract ends with the incumbent December 31, 2005, and in turn we are optimistic that by working with them on this relocation they would be receptive to US Airways on a contract renewal.

MEM / L: A site inspection was performed in this market in mid February. Five properties were visited. AFA recommended only one property, which is located in the downtown area.
The company selected a property that is not far from the airport in which AFA had rejected for long RON use.

SAV / L/S:  A site inspection was performed in this market in late February. Four properties were visited; two for short and two for long Ron's. AFA recommended one of the short properties and one of the long properties. Both of the AFA recommended properties pulled out of the bid and we are faced with using the properties that had not been recommended.

SNN-: The property that was used in this market this past season has announced that they will be closing and the current facility will be torn down and replaced by a new hotel. A site inspection of this market will be performed prior to the May start date.

BOS / S: A site inspection was performed in this market in early March. Two properties were visited. AFA recommended one property in the event the current contract with incumbent is not renewed.

FLL/L:  Effective as of February 6, 2005, FLL became a (focus city) which created and is still creating many problems for the company in terms of being able to keep up with the tremendous increase of rooms for long and short RON's. The current incumbent properties are unable to absorb the added business.

Travel Service Purchasing, who is responsible for securing rooms for our crewmembers, has said that they were unaware of the dramatic increase in rooms needed until shortly before the schedule change as of February 6th. The fact that our crewmembers have been sent as far away as MIA for FLL RON's and have been placed in properties sight unseen is unacceptable.

AFA and ALPA have expressed their dissatisfaction with the way this situation has and is currently being handled. Travel Service Purchasing has asked AFA and ALPA to be patient while they try to navigate through this crisis.

We are looking forward to having the opportunity to visit this market in the coming weeks to find more suitable accommodations for our crewmembers.

Other markets that properties have been chosen without any involvement from AFA and ALPA are DTW, SRQ, PTY, EWR and one of the current SFO-L incumbents.
