Dear Members, I stated yesterday that I would let you know when IAM Utility would no longer be cleaning the HUB cities. Commencing immediately, the Utility personnel are no longer cleaning the domestic stations including the HUB cities, PIT, LGA, BOS, DCA CLT, PHL. Flight Attendants are now required to tidy these stations in accordance with the "side letter" regarding "Flight Attendant Cabin Cleaning". Utility will still be responsible for cleaning the lavatories and restocking, refuse removal, and changing the liners, as well as continuing to perform and complete Security Checks. In addition should a situation arise in-flight that requires special cleaning beyond the procedures described in the "side letter", the flight crew will call ahead and notify the inbound station of the special cleaning request. Starting on March 28, 2005 most of Utility's work will be "outsourced". Teddy MEC President, AFA-CWA |
