Senator Edwards (NC) to visit CLT

Senator Edwards will visit the Charlotte Airport on Friday, June 7th, between 3:00 and 3:30, to speak to employees about the Supplemental Appropriations Bill, funding for the guaranteed loans US Airways seeks, and the next legislative step - ironing out the differences in the House and Senate versions in the Conference
Committee.

Place: CLT Airport, room under gate B-11
Time: 3:00pm - 3:30pm

This is an excellent opportunity for AFA members to thank the Senator directly for his support in the effort to restore the original language and funding for the ATSB federally guaranteed loans.

Or you can e-mail Senator Edward's office: http://www.senate.gov/~edwards/contact.html

Thank your Senators

Thank your Senators for their help in restoring funding for the airline loan guarantee program. Go to:  http://www.senate.gov/contacting/index.cfm

Feel free to use following message:

"On behalf of the US Airways employees represented by the Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, thank you for voting to restore the airline loan guarantee program established by the Congress last fall in the aftermath of the devastating terrorist attacks. As Congress so rightly pointed out last year, the airlines were used as the vehicle for the terrorists and would suffer greatly and immediately from both the real and psychological impact. For some of us, the road to recovery is a long one, and the government loan guarantee program essential to our recovery. However, with your help we will emerge a strong, competitive carrier.

Again, please accept our appreciation for your support."
