Furlough Related Grievances
The following grievances have been filed to address outstanding
issues surrounding both voluntary and involuntary furloughs:
1. Furlough Pay - The union believes the company violated
section 19K when it failed to award involuntarily furloughed
flight attendants their appropriate furlough pay.
2. Voluntary Furlough Dates- the company violated the
Restructuring Agreement by failing to offer the May voluntary
furlough leaves in conjunction with the involuntary furloughs
scheduled for May 1, 2003.
The outcome of these grievances will be posted on the
e-line once they are settled.

Wings over Wall Street
JFK-based UAL flight attendant Toni Diamond continues
to fight for her life. In September 2000, Toni was diagnosed
with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease)
she can no longer move, talk or breathe on her own. Her
husband, UAL flight attendant Warren Schiffer, is Toni's
full-time caregiver. Together, they began an organization
called 'Wings of Hope' (now 'Wings over Wall Street')
that is a major source of research funding and awareness
of the cruel disease.
This year's Wings over Wall Street event will be held
on Thursday, October 2, 2003 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the
New York Marriott Marquis at Times Square.
