CREW ACCOMMODATIONS UPDATE MAY/JUNE

SNN: A site inspection was performed in this market in late April. Eight properties were visited, two were recommended by AFA and ALPA. The company chose one of the AFA, ALPA recommended facilities.

BCN: A site inspection was performed in this market in late April. Nine properties were visited, three were recommended by AFA and ALPA. The company chose one of the AFA, ALPA recommended facilities.

SAN- L: A site inspection was performed in this market in mid May. Two properties were visited, one of the two being the incumbent. AFA and ALPA recommended the continued use of the incumbent. The company agreed and selected the incumbent for a three-year contract.

BOS-S: A site inspection was performed in this market in early March. Two properties were visited with one recommended by AFA if the current contract with the incumbent could not be renewed. In early May when it became clear that the incumbent would not renew, the company chose the AFA recommended facility effective July 1st.

ILM-L/S: A site inspection was performed in this market in late May. Two properties were visited when the incumbent decided not to renew the contract. AFA recommended one of the two choices for both long and short Ron's. The company chose the AFA recommended facility for the long Ron's and chose the rejected facility for the short Ron's effective June 1st.

PHL-S: A site inspection was performed in this market in mid May. Three properties were visited when the incumbent decided not to renew the contract. AFA recommended one of the three properties visited. The company chose the AFA recommended facility effective June 1st.

PWM -L/S: A site inspection was performed in this market in early June. Seven properties were visited, three were recommended by AFA. The company chose one of the AFA recommended facilities in the downtown area effective June 12th.

DEN-S: A site inspection was performed in this market in mid May. Six properties were visited including the incumbent. AFA and ALPA recommended the continued use of the incumbent. The company agreed and selected the incumbent for a three-year contract.

FLL-L: A site inspection was performed in this market in early May with four properties visited including the incumbent. AFA recommended two properties, one being the incumbent. As previously mentioned the incumbent has only been able to accept fifteen of the forty to sixty rooms needed per night with the balance going to the property that the company had selected in February. After visiting the companies selected property, AFA did not recommend this facility in its current state because of the various issues that exists at the property.

The facility is currently planning a total renovation, which is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2005 at which time AFA would reconsider it's recommendation. However the company has recently selected this facility for a three- year contract with past and present well-documented deficiencies. AFA and ALPA strongly object to this decision and we are currently evaluating our options.

The company has also chosen one of the AFA recommended facilities, which is located north of the airport approximately fifteen minutes, in addition to the incumbent for a total of three properties that are being utilized in this market.

AFA is asking the membership to please continue to submit your concerns with regards to the FLL-L via the OF-310 which is available on the AFA website or theHUB.
