Dear Members,
Below is a CBS message from the Company. This is a system-wide employee program. Please scroll down for more details on how these incentives can be obtained. Teddy ----------------- Date: Friday, 24 June 2005 13:21 ET Subject: "All Together. On Time." "All Together. On Time." Monthly Employee Incentive Program starts July 1. Cash awards up to $100 a month may be awarded to all employees for superior performance in on-time arrivals and baggage handling. See US Airways Today, theHub, or your supervisor for more information and be on the look out for future communications from Inflight Services. Feedback Venues:
Friday, June 24, 2005 Dear US Airways and US Airways Express colleague: In a rather short time, your efforts have enabled US Airways to begin to turn the corner towards renewed operational strength. I congratulate you for stepping up your efforts, focusing on the job at hand and giving 100 percent to ensure the continued safety and improved reliability of our service. As we build daily on the improvements under way, I am pleased to announce in more detail the "All Together. On Time." Monthly Employee Incentive Program. The program is designed to reward you for performance- related goals in two key areas: on-time arrivals (S:14) and baggage handling. In our customers' eyes, arriving on time with luggage is the foundation of US Airways' success. By consistently providing this service, we will keep our customers coming back. The goals are not new ones. Rather, they are targets against which US Airways already measures its performance. It is my hope that this incentive program will enable US Airways to maintain the commitment we showed in the first month of the "All Together. On Time." initiative, when we had our best May operational performance in eight years. Starting July 1, employees will receive $50 if the airline meets one monthly goal and $100 if it meets both. Mainline (including MidAtlantic Airways) and wholly-owned US Airways Express carriers will have their own incentive programs, but the goals will be the same. Incentives will be available to all employees except for managing directors and officers. The initial on-time goal is to have 82 percent of all flights arrive with 14 minutes of schedule. Even if the 82 percent target is not reached, the award will be paid if US Airways' monthly performance exceeds the performance of six peer airlines as reported by the U.S. Department of Transportation: American, America West, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United. If mainline qualifies for an award because it is first in its peer group, US Airways Express can qualify by meeting or exceeding mainline's on-time performance rate. The initial target for baggage handling is that, for every 1,000 passengers, five or fewer arrive without their bags. Because airlines do not immediately compile baggage statistics, no comparative performance award will be available. These award payments will be included in the last paycheck in the month following release of the monthly results. Performance measures will be reviewed quarterly. The awards are considered to be taxable income under IRS regulations. Further details on this program will be communicated to you through US Airways Update, US Airways Today, theHub and in your respective workgroups. While operational consistency is key, we also must be realistic about our status as a carrier operating primarily in the Northeast, Southeast and throughout the Caribbean. We are entering the summer storm and hurricane season. Please keep in mind that a month is but a series of days, and one day of adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances does not mean a bad month, nor does a month of less-than-desired operations necessarily mean a poor quarter. Storms or not, we ask that you continue to give 100 percent each day. It is easier to provide good service when things are running smoothly. The test of our strength lies in how we handle potential problems. Thank you for your commitment to our success. Remember, it is your individual strengths that make up US Airways' collective strength. Sincerely, Jerry Glass |
