US AIRWAYS AND UNITED REACH RECIPROCAL CABIN SEAT AGREEMENT

US Airways and United Airlines have reached a reciprocal cabin seat agreement effective July 1, 2008. The new agreement is the eleventh agreement reached between US Airways and other carriers since the Association of Flight Attendants requested US Airways management to negotiate reciprocal cabin seat agreements.

US Airways Flight Attendants now have reciprocal cabin seat agreements with the following carriers:

  • United Airlines (effective July 1, 2008)
  • American/ American Eagle
  • Atlantic Southeast Airlines
  • ComAir
  • Delta Air Lines
  • Frontier
  • Jet Blue
  • Northwest Airlines
  • Spirit Airlines
  • Skywest Airlines
  • Southwest Airlines

The guidelines for the US Airways/United reciprocal cabin seat agreement is HERE. Please note that one of the guidelines is Flight Attendants must adhere to the United Airlines' carry-on bag policy as it applies to revenue customers (one carry-on bag and one personal item) when traveling on United Airlines.

The guidelines to the United agreement and all of the other agreements are located on our web site - www.afausairways.org/jumpseat/  - and on theHub. It is extremely important that when traveling on other carriers all of guidelines for the particular carrier must be followed.

The reciprocal cabin seat agreements are agreements between US Airways and the respective carriers. The agreements are not part of our Collective Bargaining Agreement and may be modified, eliminated or enhanced at any time. The agreements are very valuable to our Flight Attendants and our ability to reach additional agreements and maintain the existing agreements depend on our ability to adhere to the guidelines each carrier requires.

Thank you,

Mike Flores, President
US Airways Master Executive Council

Message from Sherri Shamblin, VP InFlight Services

I'm pleased to announce a new Reciprocal Cabin Seat Agreement between
US Airways and United, effective July 1, 2008.

The program is designed for flight attendants to travel (for commuting
purposes or personal leisure) in what would otherwise be empty main cabin
seats, free of charge, on flights within the 50 United States.

Please be advised, Flight Attendants must adhere to the same specific
carry-on limitations as revenue customers when utilizing the Cabin Seat
Agreement with United (one carry-on bag plus one personal item).

Guidelines and details for travel on United will be posted to theHub/Wings
prior to the July 1 effective date.
