Dear Members,

It has recently come to our attention that the Unemployment Benefits Administration in PA is conducting a pilot program for unemployment recipients and is requesting that those who were selected to receive a letter from Unemployment Benefits Administration must attend a mandatory PA Profile Reemployment Program. Failure to do so, according to the letter will disqualify you from unemployment benefits.

If you ask to reschedule this approximately 2 hour session, they could prorate your benefits for the week. Our suggestion would be for you to attend and answer the questions they ask. AFA is not familiar with this Pilot program, and it is state specific. I assume that since Career Link is involved they will want to know your work background and education. If that is the case, it may be a good opportunity to ask about education funding availability, what schools they provide funding for, and for what type of training or education.

Remember one important element in collecting unemployment benefits, you do not have to accept any type of job or employment that pays LESS hourly wage than what you were currently receiving at US Airways.
