Dear Members,

The following is a message that went out on CBS. It is language that clarifies trip improving off the ETB during a vacation period. This was discussed today and unanimously agreed by the MEC. This language clarification will be in the next Guide to Implementation revision.

Teddy
MEC President

Subject: CBS Message - ETB/VACATION

The following CBS message was sent today. In addition, the message will be added to the next "Guide to Implementation" issued.

An ETB pairing awarded to a flight attendant that touches a vacation day(s), can not be trip improved via the AIL unless vacation buy back has been awarded to such flight attendant. When vacation buyback is offered and such flight attendant uses the AI/L to trip improve, the AI/L weekend restrictions will apply.

Absent vacation buy back, any dropping or trading of such ETB pairing awarded on a vacation day(s) must be accomplished via the Electronic Trade Board. Jetway trades and/or swaps are not allowed if such flight attendant is on vacation and has an ETB award unless both flight attendants obtained his/her pairing being traded via the ETB or unless buy back is awarded to such flight attendant. Additionally, a flight attendant on vacation that is awarded an ETB pairing may use the AIL to request a TWOP for such pairing or he/she may ask for a Personal Emergency Day via normal procedures.
