Tentative Agreement Summary & Ballot Instructions Mailed

The Tentative Agreement Summary & Contract Language Booklet should have arrived at your home by now. With the booklet, look for the letter from Pat Friend, AFA International President, explaining balloting procedures.

As a reminder, only active (i.e., dues paying) Members in Good Standing on the count date will be eligible to vote on this tentative agreement. If you are on a Leave of Absence or Voluntary Furlough beyond 90 days, you must continue to pay dues in order to remain active and be eligible to vote. Any outstanding dues must be paid before the count date for your vote to be counted.

As has been discussed at the Roadshows, this ratification vote is being conducted by electronic ballot using either the internet or touch tone telephone, your choice. Once you have voted, you may change your vote by either method during the polling period. Only the last ballot you cast will be counted.

  • Polls are now open.
  • Polls close: 5:00 pm EDT, August 9, 2002
  • The ballots will be counted after the close of polls.
In order for your vote to count, you must carefully follow these instructions:

To use the system, you must enter an ID number and a PIN. The ID number is your US Airways employee ID number. If your US Airways employee ID number is NOT a 5-digit number, you must add the appropriate number of 0's in front of the number to equal a 5-digit number.

Your PIN is the last four digits of your Social Security Number. Once you have logged in, you will be prompted to CHANGE your PIN. Be sure to remember your new PIN as you will need it if you wish to access the ballot again.

  • To Vote by PHONE call: 1-877-AFA-VOTE (1-877-232-8683)
(note: you must include the 's' in "https" otherwise you will not be able to log onto the site. The 's' indicates a 'secured site.'')
  • Once you have voted, you may change your vote at any time by either method. Only the last ballot cast will be counted. Remember your PIN.
If you experience any problems with the voting system, please call AFA Membership Services at 1-800-424-4201 x 860 during regular business hours.

The question on the ballot is:

"I have read the letter from International President Patricia A. Friend dated July 19, 2002 along with the background information provided to me and I vote as indicated on the tentative agreement between US Airways and the Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO."

* For
