PBGC Payment Options

US Airways and the PBGC expect to sign a Trusteeship Agreement for the Flight Attendant pension plan early next week.

Once this agreement is signed, the payment options available to retiring Flight Attendants will be those payment options available from the PBGC, not the payment options described in the pension plan.

This change means that the level income option will no longer be available to Flight Attendants who have not elected this form of payment prior to the date the Trusteeship Agreement was signed.

All Flight Attendants who already are receiving pension payments from the Company under the level income option will continue to be paid according to this option.

All Flight Attendants who elected this payment option on their retirement forms prior to the date of the Trusteeship Agreement will have their election of the level income option honored by the PBGC.

All Flight Attendants whose retirement papers are submitted after the date of the Trusteeship Agreement will have only those payment options offered by the PBGC, not the payment options described in the pension plan. The PBGC payment options are described at www.pbgc.gov.
