AFA Government Affairs Regional Trainings

Interested in joining your flying partners from across AFA in fighting for your rights in Congress? Want to play a part in getting the federal government to address flight attendant fatigue, improve cabin air quality, require meaningful security training, and other issues important to you? Here's your opportunity to learn how you can be at the forefront of improving your lives and careers as Flight Attendants.

Attend one of AFA's regional government affairs trainings and learn about why AFA is involved in legislative and political activities, the basics of how government works, the Government Affairs Committees at AFA and how you can be play an important role in the process and to fight for your rights as a flight attendant. The trainings are designed for flight attendants with now previous experience with government affairs but who have always had an interest in getting involved in this important arena. Also, those that want a refresher course are welcome to attend as well. Anyone interested should plan on attending one of these trainings.

AFA will be successful in many of our fights if we have strong and vibrant government affairs committees at each of our carriers. Everyone is welcome - if you can play a large role or small role, we'd like you to come learn more.

The trainings are one day trainings, structured so that you can fly in and out on the same day in order to avoid any costs to you. The trainings will take place at a nearby airport hotel and we will provide lunch. Below are the dates and cities for the 2005 trainings. Please note that the final hotel locations are currently being finalized. We will let you know just as soon as that hotel is finalized.

If you're interested in attending or would like more information, please email Shane Larson, Director of Government Affairs at slarson@afanet.org or at 202-434-0573.
